Ability Connection Colorado provides inclusive early education, pathways to employment, and family support in a community that includes, accepts, and celebrates the abilities and contributions of all, to help individuals with disabilities and their families thrive.
In 1946, the organization—then Cerebral Palsy (CP) of Colorado– began when nine mothers of children with CP were met with the difficult decision of whether or not to place their children in institutions. Today, ACCO provides high quality, comprehensive education, prevention, intervention, health, developmental, and prenatal services and family support to high risk children. ACCO ensures that parents and families are actively engaged and are supported with mentors and coaches, employment assistance, parent to parent support programs, and health education and referrals.
For the past 70 years, Ability Connection Colorado has served more than 40,000 Coloradans annually. ACCO’s comprehensive approach has proved to be deeply successful, and with an estimated 800 individuals and families on the wait list, more Coloradans can benefit from ACCO.
