Denver Film Society develops opportunities for diverse audiences to discover film through creative, thought-provoking experiences. With a year-round slate of film programs, panels & forums, education offerings and partnerships with corporate, civic, social and government organizations, Denver Film cultivates community and transforms lives with film.

DFS is the only nonprofit cultural organization in Denver dedicated to the exhibition of independent film, film making education for teens, and industry & film analysis for both industry and film-lovers alike. Denver Film Society provides teenagers the opportunity to learn the art of filmmaking and animation through the Young Filmmakers Workshops. Over 35% of these students receive full or partial scholarships to attend. DFS screens filmmakers’ projects during the annual Denver Film Festival giving the films a platform for exhibition that they otherwise might never receive, and assists filmmakers in fundraising their non-commercial projects through grants and donations.
