Komen Colorado works to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people to make healthy decisions through public education, investing 75% of net funds into local communities to ensure quality of care, and energizing science to find the cure by returning 25% of net funds to the Susan G. Komen national breast cancer research fund.

Komen Colorado, through the Community Grant Program, invests in local non-profit hospitals, health care facilities, and community-based organizations to provide breast cancer screenings, diagnostic services, treatment, and non-medical support. By facilitating regional coalitions, Komen Colorado has impacted breast health outcomes by promoting public education, aiding access to health care, and sharing the latest health practices and protocol.

In 2014, Komen Colorado’s community grant program paid for more than 887 clinical breast exams, 2,853 screening mammograms & 1,133 diagnostic procedures, educated more than 11,867 Coloradans, directed at least 1,000 women to screening providers, offset costs for surgery, chemotherapy and radiation for 64 women and men diagnosed with breast cancer, and provided 207 breast cancer patients with financial assistance, meal support, home-based care, and emotional/psychological support during treatment.
