“Between Us” Project Brings Downtown Denver Alleyways to Life

Denver is known for its public art, and now that art is reaching even into the city’s alleys. “Between Us: The Downtown Denver Alleyways Project,” sponsored by Downtown Denver Partnership and Downtown Denver Business Improvement District, just opened and will run through next May.

These five artists will create site-specific, sculptural  installations for these spots:

Location: Between 14th and 15th Streets, Larimer and Market Streets
Installation: “Alley Cats”

Location: 16th Street Mall, between Stout & California Streets (southwest side)
Installation: “Alley Freshener”
Artist: Carlos Frésquez

Location: 16th Street Mall, between Stout & California Streets (northeast side)
Installation: “Public Bodies”
Artist: Frankie Toan

Location: 16th Street Mall, between Champa & Stout Streets (northeast side)
Installation: “I should be crying but I can’t let it show”
Artist: Stuart Semple

Location: 16th Street Mall, between Curtis & Champa Streets (southwest side)
Installation: “Y/OURS”
Artist: Joel Swanson
