AT THE NICKEL
The best way to remember this recipe is that 2-1-2 is the Manhattan area code.
2 oz. barrel aged Four Roses bourbon
1 oz. Dolin rouge vermouth
2 dashes Dram Hair of the Dog Bitters
2 house brandied cherries (rehydrate dry cherries by soaking in Leopold Bros. cherry liqueur)
Combine first three ingredients and pour over a cube of ice; serve stirred, not shaken, and garnish with cherries. (The more stirs, the better—ideally 20 to 25 stirs, and even more if you are not a regular Manhattan drinker.)
