If you’re looking for a way to give back to the community this holiday season, today is the day to do it. Today is Colorado Gives Day, an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in the state through online giving. On this day, Community First Foundation and FirstBank encourage Colorado residents to “Give Where You Live” by donating to local nonprofits.

Last year, Colorado Gives Day helped over 2,300 nonprofits raise more than $35 million. This year, more than 2,400 nonprofits and charities are participating in the annual event and are eligible to receive your donation.

Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund, one of the largest in the country, according to coloradogives.org. You can do the math here. Simply put, The Incentive Fund increases the value of each donation proportionally.

How can you give?
ColoradoGives.org is the official online donation website for Colorado Gives Day. Donors can search for nonprofits by name, location, or cause. Don’t have a nonprofit in mind? No problem. Simply search for a specific cause and choose a related nonprofit. It’s that simple. Find nonprofits devoted to animals, civil rights, the environment, mental health, youth development, healthcare, and more. On Colorado Gives Day, the possibilities are endless.

According to ColoradoGives.org, nonprofits will receive their Colorado Gives Day donations and proportionate share of the incentive fund in a single disbursement before the end of this month.
