33rd Annual Charles Sawtelle Memorial Mountain Jam aka “The Charles” by KGNU
Sugar Moon Band, based out of Longmont, Colorado is an all-female bluegrass project known for blending original and traditional bluegrass music. Sugar Moon’s core duo, Elli Gauthier Varas (vocals, guitar, musical saw) and Kyra Holt (vocals, banjo, fiddle), are joined by Eric Wiggs, whose subtle additions with the bass, mandolin, and dobro add depth and balance to the sound.
High Lonesome puts a new spin on traditional, hard-driving bluegrass with a sound built around impeccable picking and tight vocal harmonies. Formed in Atlanta in 2018, they quickly became one of the top bluegrass bands in the region. They have gone through a few transitions since then, including a move to Colorado’s Front Range. Founder, singer, and songwriter Chuck Sitero will be joined by Matt Thomas and Eve Panning.
Sam Armstrong-Zickefoose is a Denver-based folk musician. Armstrong- Zickefoose plays in Meadow Mountain, Masontown, The Honeyguides, and more. His music combines clawhammer banjo, syncopated rhythms, drums, and soaring fiddle melodies. His debut album, Spark In Your Smile was released in May.
