Boulder Creek Festival®
The City of Boulder celebrates the return of Boulder Creek Festival® July 16-18, 2021, in the Boulder Civic Area. Featuring three days of live music and performances, Boulder Creek Festival® proudly announces its entertainment lineup, as well as the new Boulder Creek Beer Fest, hosted Saturday, July 17 and Sunday, July 18, with two all-inclusive tasting sessions each day. Known for its curated marketplace showcasing local makers and fine art, the 2021 Boulder Creek Festival® highlights more than 150 Colorado artists and crafters, Boulder businesses and more.
At its core, Boulder Creek Festival® is a Boulder-centric event, produced for and by the community. Hosted annually for more than 30 years and presented by the City of Boulder in coordination with Team Player Productions, Boulder Creek Festival® will take place in July rather than May to better serve the community in alignment with Colorado’s Dial Framework. The event will comply with all related state and county public health guidance. Having produced successful events in 2020, Team Player Productions is committed to delivering an event with a positive impact for local Boulder businesses, in conjunction with the City of Boulder.
Music & Entertainment
A variety of concerts and community performances will take place over the weekend, with free entertainment at the Glenn Huntington Band Shell, a community stage and a festival stage throughout the day. There are no ticket fees, but online registration is encouraged.
On Friday, July 16, Wrenn and Ian, and Danny Shafer will perform at the Band Shell. The Zimmermans and Dead Phish Orchestra will continue the legacy of Dylan & The Dead, with sets featuring music from both artists as they headline Friday night, and beer from Avery Brewing Company.
Saturday, July 17 will feature performances from Ms. Amy and The Jet Set, Dechen Hawk, Green Buddha, and Envy Alo. Saturday’s headliner will be Tierro Band and Bridget Law, plus a special guest to be announced in June, featuring beers from Upslope Brewing Company. For kid-friendly entertainment, Boulder’s beloved Jeff and Paige will put on a show at the community stage starting at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday, July 18, the final day of the festival, the Boulder Orchestra will start things off with a performance followed by Taarka and then Pamlico Sound. Sunday’s headliner, formed specifically for this event, is The Boulder Bandshell Soundmachine, featuring an all-star jam session with Shawn Eckels (of Andy Frasco and the UN), Casey Russell (of The Magic Beans), Dave Watts (of The Motet), Brian Adams (of Deadphish Orchestra) and Will Trask (of The High Hawks).
Boulder Creek Beer Fest
A new addition to Boulder Creek Festival®, Boulder Creek Beer Fest features sips almost exclusively from Colorado breweries, largely from the Boulder-Longmont area. Participating breweries include Avery Brewing Co., Upslope Brewing Co., Oskar Blues, Ska Brewing and Ska Street Brewstillery, Kettle & Spoke Brewery, Bootstrap Brewing, Twisted Pine Brewing, Elevated Seltzer, Boulder Beer Co, Stem Ciders and more. With two sessions daily, from 12-1:30 p.m. and 2-3:30 p.m., there are plenty of opportunities to sip and interact with local brewers before enjoying live music, shopping Boulder Creek Festival’s® curated marketplace and indulging in alfresco eats. Tickets are $25 per session and can be purchased online.
Celebrating Boulder’s diversity, and annually denoted as the kickoff to summer, Boulder Creek Festival® has moved from its annual date of Memorial Day Weekend for just this year. The free community weekend offers live music and performances; a curated marketplace showcasing local makers, fine art and more; a business bazaar celebrating the best in local and national businesses in Boulder’s backyard; alfresco dining spaces with eats ranging from carnival favorites and international cuisine to healthy vegetarian eats; a beer festival exclusively celebrating Colorado breweries; and a Creekside for Kids area with games, family-friendly activities and The Boulder Creek Festival Family Camp! presented by beloved local performers, Jeff and Paige; and more.
Boulder Creek Festival® strives to produce a responsible, zero-waste event by implementing composting and recycling throughout the festival. Attendees are encouraged to utilize alternative transportation to and from the event, such as biking, walking or public transportation.
