Denver Superhero Heart Run
Superheroes of all ages are invited to “Save the Day for Congenital Heart Defects” at the 7th annual Denver Superhero Heart Run! Walk, run and FLY for the 1 in 100 with Conquering CHD-Colorado and Heart Heroes, Inc. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Hudson Gardens and Event Center!
“Congenital Heart Disease is the most common birth defect worldwide, affecting about 1 out of every 100 babies born. Still, very few people know it even exists until it impacts them directly,” states Margaret Keller, Heart Heroes, Inc. National Program Director. “CHD doesn’t stop because of a pandemic and families need our support more than ever. This run is an opportunity to unite superheroes from across Colorado, raise awareness for CHD and continue providing support for the families affected by CHD.”
One local family knows all too well the effects CHD can have on a child, a family and a community. Last year, Heart Hero Asher’s parents learned of his Congenital Heart Disease during their 20-week ultrasound. Asher is only one year old and has already undergone open-heart surgery and other cardiac procedures to maintain his heart health and will face additional surgeries in the future. Asher is just one of the Heart Heroes and Heart Angels who will be honored at the Denver Superhero Heart Run!
This year’s event is Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Hudson Garden and Event Center. Check-in and walk-up registration open at 9:00am. Family activities and entertainment will be held from 9:00-11:00am including our Heart Hero Parade, Heart Angel Remembrance, Super Kids’ Dash and more! The 5k and 2k start at 11:00am. Funds raised at this event directly impact the Colorado CHD community through support and programs offered by Conquering CHD-Colorado and Heart Heroes, Inc.
