Shawn Miller, Publisher and CEO
Born and raised in Huntington Beach, Calif., I moved in 1989 to Arizona, where I received a degree in global marketing with a minor in advertising at Arizona State University. I worked nine years for a regional magazine publisher in Arizona, learning about the magazine industry from top to bottom. In 2007, I and my wife/business partner, Kristin, along with our first child and three pups, relocated to Colorado to launch Denver Life Magazine. We now have three wonderful children and love this amazing state. I enjoy skiing, golfing, camping, hiking, fly-fishing, and spending time with my family.
Kerrie Lee Brown, Executive Editor
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, I relocated to Denver in 2014. I’ve had the pleasure of running several international magazines in the health and fitness, entertainment, and lifestyle industries—most notably, as the editor-in-chief of Oxygen Women’s Fitness, founding editor of American Health & Fitness, and executive editor of Today’s Parent. I’ve also written for over 100 publications in the areas of fashion, beauty, celebrity, sports, and nutrition. After taking some time off to write a self-help book for women My Heart, My Self and launch my own global storytelling platform Redlilylife.com, I am thrilled to oversee the amazing Denver Life editorial team. Off the clock, you’ll find me at the motocross track and hockey rink cheering on my two boys.
Erica Buehler, Associate Editor
I hail from central Connecticut, having moved to Denver in the fall of 2019 (my first out-of-state and major-city home) with my hockey- and mountain-loving boyfriend. I graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2017 with a bachelor’s in English literature and a minor in digital art, and have since worked in various industries, including legal, marketing, and publishing. I am grateful to now call Denver Life Magazine my home, where I happily spend my days writing, editing, and managing digital content. Aside from freelance copywriting and exploring the city’s expansive food scene, I spend my free time snuggling my French Bulldog, Gus, and rescue pup, Phoenix, sipping coffee, and buying more houseplants that I definitely don’t need.
Tom Visocchi, Creative Director
I grew up in Detroit, studied at the Center for Creative Studies, and worked at an ad agency before moving to Denver 25 years ago. Since then, I have done an array of creative work (plus bartending!), working at an ad agency, designing mail-order catalogs for a subsidiary of Whole Foods, and photo editing for Starz. In publishing, I have worked at Colorado Biz magazine and Denver magazine, and freelanced for Ft. Collins, Breckenridge, and Winter Park magazines for Evergreen Publishing. For the last five years, I’ve designed Denver Life Magazine.
Michelle M. Gutierrez, Art Director
Growing up in Santa Fe, I spent many afternoons daydreaming about my future. At 18, I enlisted in the Army and was able to travel the world. After four years of serving my country and gaining a sense of direction, I began my creative journey in the Pacific Northwest. Now, with over 15 years of design experience, I have an innate sense of layout, and believe my travels have given me a perspective on the world that I bring to my work as a designer and art director. With a passion for the arts, I immerse myself in it all—whether fine-tuning my cooking skills, mixology, visual arts, dancing, or attending as many music events as possible.
Jamie Froyd, Business Development Manager / Events
In my role at Denver Life, I collaborate with various clients and nonprofits to create partnerships that provide new branding opportunities and event marketing. The team’s only Colorado native, I’m a Cherry Creek and CU Boulder alum, so you’ll find me enjoying all things outdoorsy around the state in my spare time.
